Softball
After church today we had a little picnic, and then after the picnic, we played softball. Now, if you don't know, I am really good at baseball/softball. My brother and I have played since we were children. I played a significant amount while I was in prison... and I did better than I expect from about an 8 year layoff, since my sophmore year of high school.
Anyways, we played at a local park near my house... the teams were as follows: 30 and over on one, and the rest on the other. (MISTAKE, CAUSE MY BROTHER AND I ARE GOOD).
Well, my brother bashes a homer on the first pitch (as the first batter). Then another player bats, and it is my turn. I am batting 3rd (which is good for me)... and I hit a liner down the 3rd base line. I make it to first and await my opportunity to be hit in... it doesnt happen, and I end up walking back to the dugout from first. Well, a couple innings later, I get up, and I rocket one over centerfields fence... for a 2 run homer... WOO!!!

I did nothing today.
My goal for today was to do a Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) [what I am currently running] reinstall. I was going to completely format and reinstall (from scratch) my Ubuntu box. Then, as I burned the Ubuntu CD (legal, because of Open Source), I decided that it would be way too much trouble, and I am not really in that kind of mood. So I decided to hold it off for another day. Thankfully, because of my wonderful girlfriend, Jeni, I am going to have some time to myself tonight... (which I need).
I just wanted to give you guys a small glimpse into the nothing that I call my life.

**SITE UPDATES**
As of today, (I had a little free time), I have added a few things.
1) There are new links in the ::NAV:: area, they are bold. Firefox Extensions are one of them.
2) There is now a PERMALINK at the bottom of each post. The timestamp is now clickable (for you non-savvy web people). It is hyperlink'd to the permalink.
I will keep you updated with all the changing that is going on with my site.

Firefox vs. Swiftfox (LINUX)
Swiftfox is an optimized Firefox-based browser (Linux only). And I have been using it since my migration from Windows to Ubuntu [Linux]. Well, after perusing the Swiftfox website, I came across THIS. It is the licensing information for Swiftfox (and source code).
Now, I am not a Linux GURU or a l337 master of *NIX, but I read something that was perplexing. If the idea behind Open Source and GNU is to promote 'free' distribution of software in order to help the software develop, why does Swiftfox violate that? The Swiftfox licensing says: (I will quote it): "Binaries provided by getswiftfox.com are not licensed MPL and therefore are not freely distributable. The license to use Swiftfox extends to the user that downloads Swiftfox from this web site. No one may repackage or redistribute Swiftfox binaries in any form without prior permission.". Now, if that doesn't violate the 'free' idea, I don't know what does.
For that reason, I have left Swiftfox, and went back to Firefox. Please steer clear of Swiftfox.

HOME
After being home for a little over a full week (9 days), I have been adjusting very well. It was a little weird at first, coming home... I felt like I knew everything, but it was strange not having someone tell you where you can go, and where you can be, and what time to be back, and when to use the restroom. It was a nice (but different) feeling. However, I am still elated at the fact that I am home. Five months may not seem long to you, but to me, it was a lifetime. February to July... half a winter, and half a summer, lost.
That is OK though... there are lots of them left.
More to come later.
*UPDATE* --> to the people that forgot about me in prison... there is no need to bother IM-ing me, or calling me... I have no desire to speak with you.

**UPDATE**
I have returned from Pittsburgh with my ankle monitor. I was there for approx. 5 minutes. I got the ankle monitor placed, and was told the rules: Monday through Friday I have from 8:30AM until 9:00PM to do whatever I want. (Which means the other times, I have to be at home). Saturday and Sunday (weekends) I have from 8:30AM until 5:00PM. (SUCKS!). Also, I can not swim, because this monitor can not be submerged for longer than 5 minutes... so that ruins that aspect of my summer.
But, I will have this off right before Christmas (DEC 19th, I can cut it off).
Today
I am getting ready to head down to Pittsburgh to get my ankle bracelet (for home confinement) installed. If I do it today, I can be off of it right before Christmas. Which will make for a better holiday season for me and my family.
I will post more about this when I return.

The Dawn of a New Era
After spending 148 days in a Federal Prison, I have learned a few new things about myself and others. I am severely disappointed in some people, and will most likely never talk to them again. However, I will send a shoutout to some people who kept me going throughout this hard time:
First off, my Jeni. She wrote me, and talked to me, and always made sure that I stayed smart and safe.
Second, Georgia, you wrote a lot, and we chatted more intelligently than anyone at the prison, thank you.
Third, Patti (aka Lilith), thank you for the cards and thanks for the emails. It is nice to know that there are strangers out there that care more than some friends do.
Last, anyone else that I missed, I talked to a lot of people, but these three are the standouts. (aside from my family, that I talked to on a regular basis)
I am tired of talking about prison already and it is has only been a couple days.
